2012 Events
Due to lack of snowfall and mild conditions, the January Moonlight Walk was canceled. Watch this space for a possible walk in February.
Our first general meeting of 2012 on Wednesday, January 11 at 7:30pm was well attended with a great guest speaker - Adam Shoalts. Adam entertained the Friends with stories of his 2011 exploration of the Amazon rain forest and an un-named river in the Hudson Bay Lowlands. We also received a cheque from the Short Hills Cycling Club that represents the monetary value of the man hours of work the club gave to the park during 2011.
October General Meeting
October 12, 2011 at the St. John's Outdoor Centre on Roland Road. Guest Speaker: Kaitlin Langenberg - "Exploring the War of 1812 Along the Niagara Parkway". Meeting starts at 7:30pm - all welcome!
BLACK WALNUT TRAIL WORK CREW
On Saturday, October 1, members of the Shorthills Cycling Club are inviting Friends of Short Hills Park and anyone else interested in helping improve the #2 trail near the Pelham Road parking lot to lend a hand. Start time 12 noon.
